Five Inquiries at Cana

To the groom I grill:
Choice wine is not for guests who had their fill,
Why then is Cana intoxicated in the night chill?
(No answer comes but a silly giggle)

To the banquet master I wonder:
Who changed the serving etiquette here?
A miracle in the cup for all to cheer?
(Morning breeze or evening rain, this stuff is without a peer)

To Mary I draw near:
With or without wine, why’d you care?
Asking for his help, a whisper is your silent prayer
(In answering it, His Grace is abundantly clear)

To the servants I incline:
Water to wine, “only you” witnessed the sign so divine?
Rushed to the master, intoxicating guests with an aroma so fine?
(Surely, you tasted it ahead of the line)

To Jesus my voice quivering and low:
Wuliangye, Moutai and 1842 Château de Bordeaux,
Who can name a drink as precious as the one we know?
On the altar you lay yourself, and pour out an offering with Cana’s flow

All who drink of your cup agree,
The most aromatic and priceless gift is free

等那千年一聲的霹靂

【註】洞爺湖（Tōya Lake）位於日本北海道的湖泊，屬於支笏洞爺國立公園，是由火山活動形成的火山口湖，大約在11萬年前火山噴發后形成，以後火山多次噴發，形成一系列湖中島和湖旁火山丘。

這是天父世界，孩童側耳要聽，宇宙歌唱，四圍響應，星辰作樂同聲。神美好的創造遍滿了宇宙中。諸天述說神的榮耀，穹蒼傳揚衪的手段。天父世界多麼美好！我們眼目所及的樹木花草，蒼天碧海，湖光山色，日月星辰都在向我們述說著天父的全能。

每當我登高遠眺，舉目觀看主手所造的奇妙大工，心裡充滿了敬畏、感恩和讚美。主啊！袮真偉大！何等偉大！大自然裏色彩斑斕，如此美好和諧。最美的畫卷就在天上！舉目望天，雲彩霞光一天一樣，變化無窮。透過空中的雲彩、綿延的群山、草地的野花，透過這些有聲無聲、無窮無盡的自然景觀，神天天向我們展現祂偉大無限的智慧能力。神的美好創造讓人百看不厭。近兩三年來我開始拿起畫筆畫下感動，通過寫生和創作，慢慢畫了一些曾經感動我、讓我嘆為觀止的壯麗河山畫面，筆墨頌讚，主啊！袮真偉大！

詩篇150篇說：“你們要讚美耶和華，在祂的聖所讚美衪，在衪顯能力的穹蒼讚美衪。”是的，我們要讚美耶和華，在神的聖所讚美衪，在衪顯能力的穹蒼讚美衪。世人要讚美衪，神的子民更要讚美祂！天上的一切要讚美衪，地上和海洋中的一切要讚美衪，凡有氣息的都要讚美衪！

Woke up at dawn,
Tied down the cut wood,
Onto the shoulders of Isaac,
As I walk with you.

Swinging a half-moon shaped knife,
I cut through thorns and thistles,
Yet not through Sarah’s worrying expressions,
As she stood at the front door.

As for the torch,
The torch luminated the fear and tremor
along the way that was even more desolate
than the chilling night.

As for the lamb,
The innocent boy asked,
“Father, where is the lamb for the burnt offering?”
With a quavering voice, I said,
“My son, you are the lamb.”

Last night’s starlight stung my eyes.
This morning, we continue our journey.
Panting as we climb up that mountain.

Built an altar. Arranged the wood.
Tied Isaac onto the wood on the altar.
Extended my hand. Just as I took out the knife to …
take his life. Not too early nor too late,

The angel of the Lord called out from heaven:
“Do not lay a hand on the boy.
Now I know that you fear God,
Because you have not withheld from me your son.”

I looked up. Unexpectedly,
A ram, caught by its horns in the bushes …
